Sunday, February 5th

When you were a child did you ever wander off? How did that work out for you?
Some of us never grow up, wandering about -- chasing after one thing, then another. This Sunday we'll be looking at God's message for wanderers and recovering wanderers as we explore Psalm 119:65-72.

I used to wander off until
you disciplined me; but now
I closely follow your word.
~ Psalm 119:67 (NLT)

We meet at 10 AM in building N of the South Mountain Community College Laveen Center (former site of Laveen Elementary School), 5001 W Dobbins Rd.
Whoever you are -- wherever you're from -- whatever your situation -- welcome!  Bring a friend!

Blessings!

Stop worrying about money

We're offering the popular 13-week Financial Peace University class with the dynamic Dave Ramsey starting Wednesday, February 8th. We will be meeting from 6:30-8:30 PM, each Wednesday, in Room 7 at the South Mountain Community College Laveen Center, 5001 W Dobbins Rd., Laveen.

You can register on the first evening of class or online. The cost is $100 per family. That includes textbook, workbook, CD's, and several other resources. If you have already taken the course somewhere you can take it again for free.

This is a way to beat debt and develop healthy wealth. You don't have to be in financial trouble to benefit. The average family taking this course eliminates $5,300 in debt and saves $2,700 during the 13-week period.

Dave Ramsey's radio show is heard daily around the US -- including 92.3 KTAR FM, 7-10 PM. By the age of 26, he had established a $4 million real estate portfolio. He lost it all by age 30. Subsequently he rebuilt his financial life and now devotes himself full-time to helping ordinary people understand the forces behind their financial distress and how to set things right.

We're looking for land

We know that as MasterPiece Church continues to grow we're going to need a more permanent place to support our expanding mission. We're looking for 7+/- acres in the Laveen area where we can build:

  • a multipurpose community center that includes a chapel for up to 200 people at a time
  • classrooms that can be used for children, Bible studies, youth groups, community English language classes, music classes, financial planning classes...
  • staff offices
  • a small bookstore and drop-in coffee shop in conjunction with
  • a thrift shop and free food shop for the benefit of the Laveen community
  • a Christian elementary school for special needs children from the entire Phoenix area (We project 30 students meeting in five classrooms)
  • a small farm with animals and medium size food garden for the school children
  • a children's play area
  • a residence for five otherwise homeless adults who will be in our discipleship program as they are caretakers of the property
  • parking

Not absolutely essential but highly desirable:
  • SRP irrigation
  • proximity to bus route
  • potential to power through solar energy
